A way to make modeling even faster! #44140

I'm not sure where to post something like this, so if this is in the wrong place I apologize.

I'm a new Blender user with a few years of Maya experience. I have to say, I'm really amazed at how good Blender is and previously always scoffed at freeware. But it's becoming my favorite tool. Modeling is my favorite thing and Blender is fantastic for it. I thought of a really nice feature that could be implemented into the modeling aspect.

Pressing 'G' to move an object/component, what if the user could scroll the mouse wheel to reach the desired direction (X, Y, Z) rather than tap the key? I thought this minute feature would be neat and make modeling even faster (which, it already is pretty great!). Since I have very little coding experience, I couldn't implement this on my own.

Just a thought for a tweak I wanted to send to the gurus :) I really love Blender!

Thanks for the suggestion, but we do not accept such things on our tracker (otherwise it would become unmanageable). Better to use forums like blenderartists.org, or our bf-funboard ML, for that. :)

Also, please note that pressing MMB also constrains along an axis (the one you have been moving the most so far) - Hit G, start moving along desired axis (approximatively), click MMB, and you are constrained.
