I do no know it is bug or not, but it look strange

I don't really think it is a bug, more like a specific of using volume BSDF on a plane which doesn't have volume (which makes it so light enters the volume and never leaves it, sorta "black hole" effect depending on which side you're looking onto the plane :)

But before calling it so, would want to have some deeper check, so assigning to self with low priority.

Yes, this is basically not supported, the mesh must be closed, if you extrude it into a cube it works as expected.
