FBX: import of emptyes is not the same in diffrent version of FBX importer #45233

Short description of error
FBX importing with diffrent versions of FBX add-on gives not the same result

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
model was imported from this course http://www.lynda.com/Blender-tutorials/Rigging-Humanoid-Character-Blender/365285-2.html
Exercise Files\Ch01\01_Mesh.fbx
File->Import->FBX(.fbx)->select file and press button "Import FBX"

  • Do you know whether a version is correct and the other incorrect? Mere difference is not a bug in itself, if version from 3.3.3 is correct it’s actually a bug fix! :P

Hu… this file contains 'geometric transform' (though coming from Maya - GT are supposed to be Max way of life, but whatever…). Those were not supported until 2.73 or 2.74 release, so indeed previous importers would import that empty on (0,0,0) location. New ones are doing the correct expected thing (as best as possible).

So thanks for the report, but no bug here, actually it’s bugfix even! :P
