Particle emitter volume mode and grid mode broken in 2.75.x

OSX 10.10.3 NVidia 780m

Blender Version
Broken: (example: 2.75.x Release Candidate and dailies)
Worked: (2.74 Site Download)

When creating a particle system and selecting Volume Mode AND Grid Mode and let's say a cube as particle object,
the cubes don't fit inside the particle system's mesh. It shows a 3d grid of particle objects to form a cube..

Saving the file in 2.75 and reopening in 2.74 shows the erratic positioning, but after switching from another mode, back to Volume Mode, shows correct behaviour

The issue is caused by rBdced56f.

@Campbell Barton (campbellbarton), do we consider this a stopper for the release?

I think that the correction does not work definitely in new nependency graph.

@perfection cat (sindra1961), it's on a TODO to revisit integration of particles into the new dependency graph. Old one has too much hacks around to keep particles working.
