Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?
Actually, "Pitch" control is "Speed" control. Because, as Audacity "Change Speed" effect wiki says: "Length, pitch and frequency content are all affected when you use Change Speed", not only its pitch.
It would be great to be different with an additional tool. It could have "Lenght and Pitch affected" toggle and "Speed" number. When you disable "Lengh and...", "Speed" becomes "Lenght" and "Pitch" controls independant.

Yeah… Issue is, internal code uses 'pitch' everywhere for that. This is for sure bad, but changing only UI names would be a bit odd imho, and renaming everything to 'speed' will break compat & all.
Antony, thoughts here?

I'd say "program x calls it y" is not a bug. When and if it's ever possible to influence both independently, we'll consider changing the name.
As documentation lacks, that aren't bugs, are accepted as reports (e.g: blender/documentation#44284), I decided to put this here.
I think the same as @Psy-Fi, if some day there were additional audio filters, like a lenght control without changing its pitch and pitch control without changing the lenght of the track... well, in that moment, we can use new names, maybe: "time stretching" and "frequency scaling" (*).
(*) Wikipedia says: "Transposing can be called frequency scaling or pitch shifting, depending on perspective". Maybe the correct name is"transpose" or "pitch"... I don't know.
