I have been going over a tutorial for Rigging
and there was problem within Blender
for orienting a custom shape for the Bones
at the properties menu on the right side -> Bone -> Display ->
Custom Shape

The problem is described in this you-tube video from 7'40"
and at 11'30" he s showing what needed to be done manually -
translating rotating & scaling even after the script he shows
for every bone in the armature !!!

Blender Character Rigging 9 of 10
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=miphUq4uwNM

some one wrote in the talk-backs :
most frustrating step -,-
and also check out
http://blender.stackexchange.com/questions/17763/easier-way-to-orient-custom-bone-shapes

Although I am a programmer , I never programmed within Blender
but I wanted to figure it out and I did
and the problem is totally solved with the current add-on that
is attached to this mail - after picking the custom shape -you
only need to click the button
orient custom shape and everything is OK

but it can be better - if the function within the script that
I updated
can be appended just after the pick custom shape script within
Blender
so there will be no need to even click the button
(I also added a check-box and an extract shape button- to
extract the custom shape from the bone if you need to use it
elsewhere

So I just wanted to give the script to you
and hopefully you can pass it on to someone that can append
it to the
Bone -> Display -> Pick Custom Shape script

Thanks
Michael B

When orienting custom shape deleting the original custom shape, a corrupted version of the shape keeps behind, even after removing the whole armature. This corrupted version can be seen in Blender Files display mode in the Outliner. It can't be erased nor selected.
