System Information
Windows 7
NVidia GeForce GTX 960

Blender Version
Broken: 2.75a c27589e
Worked: No ideae

Short description of error

**Attempting create the same functionality as flash and after effects by setting custom properties in the object tab or the texture tab. a few thing go wrongl"

Here is a link to get an idea on how i am wanting to use blender: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vQxD8OOjh-I
If you watch the video you will notice the blender can do 95% of what they are talking about its missing in software library system that isn't tied to an image sequence - Ideally a better or similar system to toonbooms "Animate Pro" library setup draw and save the image we instant feed back straight away would be better.

Adding a custom property to the "object tab" of the properties panel the property will show up in the 3d viewports "Hot key N panel window"
but image sequence that is texture on the plane will not update unless you specifically have the texture tab window selected in the properties panel.

Alternatively if a custom property is set in the texture tab of the properties panel the image updates but the custom property don't show up in the 3d viewports "Hot key N panel window"

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error**

Option 1
0. blender internal

  1. Import image as plane
  2. Select the first image an image sequenceand the following import images as planes options
  • Default setting are good and then tick
  • Shadles
  • Transparent
  • use alp
  1. Change the textures from "single image" to "Image sequence" under the Texture Tab
  2. Create custom properties on the image plane that is imported
  3. Property doesn't appear in the 3D view port
  4. Hook up the Driver

Option 2
0. blender internal

  1. Import image as plane
  2. Select the first image an image sequence and the following import images as planes options
  • Default setting are good and then tick
  • Shadles
  • Transparent
  • use alp
  1. Change the textures from "single image" to "Image sequence"
  2. Create custom properties on the image plane that is imported under Object tab
  3. Property appears in the 3D viewport but doesn't show up update unless you change from the object tab to the texture tab settings

You can see now that a quick glance pick and click option shown in the Link is a much more elegant solution i have thoughts on what needs to be done to achieve this and like blender is actually 95% of the way their.

But right now this what I have so this what I will use

Thank you

If you want contact me through google hangouts you can.

Note that there was a missing refresh call for add/remove properties.

As far as I can tell all the steps in this report just point to this missing UI update.
