Smoke simulation doesn't work as expected when using a negative cache start frame.

negative frames are correctly baked.
If you allow negative frames playback in user preferences and use an alternative frame range in timeline; you can play animation from beginning and see smoke in 3DView.
You can render smoke animation, too.
But a click into timeline to jump to a frame or scrubbing current frame into timeline does not correctly refresh smoke into 3DView.
The only way to read smoke baked frames is to start to play animation from a frame before start frame of cache.

Scrubbing should refresh viewport and in fact it works as expected when baking frames starting with positive one.
There might be some internal limitation of the system or so involved here, would need to have a closer look to answer if it's fixable or not.

We don't currently have active smoke maintainer, so will consider it a TODO for now. Some more major changes about simulation and depsgraph are planned anyway and will happen dugin 2.8 project.
