Camera parented to amarature #46107

System Information
Operating system windows 7
graphics card Nvidia Geforce GTX960

Blender Version
Broken: (example: 2.69.7 4b206af, see splash screen)
Worked: I have no ideae

Camera that is the child of an armature somehow movies that camera

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

You can read my latest post on it here
but here are the steps

Camera tracking an object

The first camera is setup as a "Render Cam"trakcing the object" ()this camera works fine
The second camera is meant to be parented to the object so it move along with the object so I can work around the object while it is animating through space and don't have to worry about tracking through the perspective viewport and keep hunting for the moving/ animated object

so
1st camera enable me to work to frame/ camera/ render view
2nd camera is a helper to enable me to animate on the object easier

the trouble is auto key it keeps keying the camera and i don't want it too this is me being a noob i am sure of it - i am sure there is a way to do this with out it keying and having auto key on

and

secondly the camera is parent to the armature keeps offsetting from were it is in space (I can't reproduce this so i don't know what was going on)

thirdly tearing off the 3D view port 'Duplicating work area'

so I can see through the Two different cameras at the same time in to different view port is not possible because the

Parented camera to the rig somehow can move the rig when it's the child and it moves the armature out of the render cam view screwing up the animation.

Please let me know if its bug or just the way that i am working - because after a whole day of this i feel freakn crazy.

I have also tried every possible parenting work flow I can think of to try and stop the armature being possessed from the camera.

Could it be euler or quin thang and the child is some how able to become a parent when its a child or an inherit issue.

i seriously have no idea but I work this way all the time in maya along with others that i know its behaving very odd.

I’m sorry, but this is not a valid bug report, it sounds much more like a user assistance request, which does not belong to this tracker, please use forums like http:*blenderartists.org, or http:*blender.stackexchange.com/, for such means.

If you do think you have a bug, please make a clear report, with all info required, precise step to reproduce it, and simple .blend file to help reproducing it, and a single issue per report. Otherwise it’s hard to track and manage issues correctly from our end.

It's a bug

  1. Create a 2 cameras and an armature name one camera "render cam" and the other "work cam"
  2. Duplicate the 3d viewport now there should 2 3D viewports
  3. Animate the amature
  4. Parent the the "work cam" to the armature so it follows the animation of the armature
  5. Animate Render cam follow armature
  6. Set 1 of the 3d viewports to view as the "render cam" and the
  7. 2nd view port as the :work cam" that is parent to the armature
  8. Now if you look through the "work cama" and orbit around the armature it will offset the armature in space and sometimes change the view of the other view port to be the same that you are rotating in.

please take a look at the blend files and you will notice what I am talk about
if you still dont get it because its difficult to explain then I am happy to do a screen share

the "work cam" some how takes control over the armature off setting it in space "the camera is the child" This is not meant to be possible.

I don.t know how its happening but i know its is bug

If you want to talk to me on hangout you can.

my email is

MrAdamEarle@gmail.com

Thank you and please double check it honestly.

As I said, this is user support, not bug. You simply have Camera Parent Lock enabled in User Preferences, Interface tab…
