Incorrect transparency display in 3D window

3D windows set to material display. The second mesh plane (behind the first) is selected.

During animation playback mesh plane with animated transparency causes second mesh plane behind it to display with a hole at alpha values between 0 and 1

If the mesh plane at the front (with animated transparency) is selected during playback then the display problem does not occur.

3D viewport doesnt' do depth ordering of objects and always draws transparent objects in a separate pass in rather unpredictable for artists order. This might easily case artifacts like this to happen.

While it is possible to do proper ordering in the viewport it'll have negative effect on the viewport performance.

So thanks for the report, but it's not considered a bug.
