Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?

unfortunately, this is a known limitation (not sure if this is on the TODO somewhere -- not sure if this would be called a bug)

This is indeed a limitation of node groups. Surely it would be cool if at lease warning message was shown, but it's not really possible with current design of the operator (poll function disables operator so it's not available in the menu, meaning shortcut can't run the operator and show the warning).
Some nice TODO for @JulianEisel, but wouldn't really consider this a bug, just a known limitation. Thanks for the report anyway.
