Crash when using Triangulate modifier on a specific mesh.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
adding an UVsphere with 1024 segments and 512Rings, after a while blender crash with EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION

Also crashes when try to add a triangulate modifiers on a heavy mesh (more then 100k tris)

It is not crashing for me but just hanging after about five minutes Blender would respond again. This seems like a long time especially for computers with discrete graphics cards. (Using GFX 960m 4gb)

Cannot reproduce any segfault here either (linux debian64 testing), not even with asan debug build.

@Nicola (n1k0l4) Such a big mesh does require some RAM (though not that much, a few 100Mb), did you check you had enough free memory? Also, can you reproduce the crash easily (like every time you try it), or is it random, rare crash? And does it happen if you start Blender in single-threaded mode (-t 1 command line option)?

@Aaron Carlisle (Blendify) graphic card has nothing to do here, this is time needed to compute position and other stuff (like UVs iirc) of all the 500k vertices and faces!

@Bastien Montagne (mont29), I've 16Gb of RAM, and I never use more than 50% while working.

I can't reproduce always the error adding an UVsphere, but on the attached file, if I try to put a triangulate modifier on the mesh, blender crush.

Can confirm the crash when triangulating

@Nicola (n1k0l4) Consider this report fixed, if you can reproduce the other issue reported here (the crash with huge UVSphere creation) please open a new report - we try to avoid having more than one issue per ticket!
