Mesh render artifacts in Cycles

Broken in Blender 2.75a, 2.76, 2.76b

Created scene with simple, smooth shaded mesh sphere and rendered same using Cycles.

Render artifacts are visible on sphere in the Cycles render. (See attached files)

When the same scene is rendered using Blender internal the sphere renders smoothly without artifacts.

That is the so called Terminator problem. It's a known issue, only solution for now is to subdivide the mesh further.
