System Information
Operating system: Windows 8
graphic card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670

also tested on:
OS: Linux CentOS 6.5
graphic card: Internal graphics card

Blender Version
Broken: 2.76b

Short description of error
When scaling a curve and increasing the Bevel Depth leads in a flat shape.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

After scaling a curve to align them on X Y or Z axes by pressing S + X , Y or Z + 0 an issue occures when I increase the Bevel Depth of the curve.
Basically it should be a 3D pipe but unfortunately it is flat. There is no depth on the axes on which the curve was scaled to.
Also the Cotnrol Points and Handles are fixed at the axes I scaled them to I and can't move them along the corresponding axes in Edit Mode.

  • Add a curve
  • Press S + X , Y or Z + 0
  • Increase the Bevel Depth of the curve in the Data Tab

This isn't a bug. While we dont prevent this,
scaling objects to 0 on an axis is rarely useful and gives issues as you've noted.

Can confirm, but this is not a bug.
After you have scaled the whole curve object down to 0 along y, trying to scale 0 via the S manipulator will only multiply the value of 0 and not change anything.
You can set the scale manually from the Properties toolbar (press N) to something higher than 0.

Edit: seems i was too slow ;)
