Blender Version
Broken: 2.77 rc1 b594b25

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

Open attached file and hit F12 on image editor. You'll see wood texture.
Connent stucci's color output to output's input. Now image editor shows stucci texture.
Hit F12 on image editor. But nothing shows in image editor.
