Tangent Shading material option doesn't work on BGE.

Description

It seems that "Tangent Shading" option doesn't work on BGE, but it is there when "Blender Game" engine is activated.
Could be two issues:

  • Tangent Shading is not working on viewport and BGE or...
  • The option shouldn't be there.

Also, I made a render (BI) and the result is not nice (I don't know if it is rendered correctly):

If it works in blender's viewport woudl expect it to work in BGE as well. Can BGE team check on this?

Yes, tangent material shading is not implemented in the BGE nor in the blender view port.

The option shouldn't be there.

The fastest would be to remove the option for the BGE. But if you need it, I can try to implement it in my holidays.

I'll be honest with you: I discovered this bug in my procrastinating time. Aka: I didn't and I don't need it. But it would be nice to have that shader in BGE.

I think that, if parallax was possible only with nodes, a tangent (anisotropic) shader also could. There must be someone who has already done it... uh?

I found some GL codes that do that, here and here. Maybe they are useful to you.
