Blender crashes if Python 2.7 is installed at C:\Python27
Closed, DuplicatePublic

System Information
Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit
Radeon HD 7970

Blender Version
Broken: 2.77a

Short description of error
If I have Python 2.7 installed in the folder C:\Python27, Blender will immediately crash when trying to launch it.

I know python has it's own built in python 3 and is incompatible with Python2.7. So I think this might be some left over piece of code from when Blender used Python2.7.

I cannot remove Python27 because so many other software (e.g. scribus) require it, but Scribus makes use of the PYTHONPATH system variable.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Install Python2.7 to C:\Python27
Try to launch Blender: it'll crash.

To workaround:
rename Python27 to anything else (e.g. Pythongetout)
set the PYTHONHOME AND PYTHONPATH variables to point to the renamed location.
Blender will work fine, most python tools that read from the path will work fine too.
