Vector pass disabled when renderes motion blur is turned on #48908

Broken: since cycles has motion blur

Short description of error
Vector pass is empty in render layer. there is no visual warning that pass will be blank when using motion blur. Also i find that sometimes i want one render layer to render motion bur while second to heve vector pass, could we make it working in both ways?

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Render vector pass with physical motion blur on... vector pass will be empty

This is by design at the moment, not considered a bug.

In case we add support for this in the future, could you explain what you would use this for? Do you want to apply extra motion blur to already motion blurred objects? It might not work very well.

The reason is deformation motion blur on fury character which i found extremely slow. I want to have it disabled on mesh with hairs. So characters will render fast without moblur whih i wil add in fusion. And enviro already has moblur in reflection etc... it works as i can do it on separate scenes.

If this behaviour is by design then ok. But it took me 5 hours to find why vector pass in one of my files is empty.
So when motion blur is enabled then vector pass should be not available to chose/check. At least a warning indicator like with experimental features has.

I forgot to add that objects with deformation motion blur disabled i keep on separate layer with alpha so they do not have double motion blur in compositor...

Ok, the vector pass is grayed out in the UI now.

So what we should ideally fix is the slow deformation motion with hair..
