Short description of error
Cursor depth giving some artifacts
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Based on a (as simple as possible) attached .blend file with minimum amount of steps
Sometimes it doesn't draw but when it draws the mesh pop out toward user's view
Changed status to: 'Open'

Hi @ErickNyanduKabongo, I wasnt able to reproduce this (ortho and cursor depth seem to work fine here)
Sorry for not answering early on pretty busy weekend ;)
Here is a video demonstrating it but it doesn't fail with every stroke i had to try many times before getting that fail. I should investigate more tomorrow. One thing that you can try to check is in userpref panel -> interface tab check the rotate around selection and zoom to mouse position, those are my default settings they get bug faster, note the bug appears with factory settings as well.

Hi. I think I can reproduce this:
Carver cursor depth bug.zip
Note that Cursor Depth is enabled by default in both .blend.
With the "carver_bug_pop out.blend" file with the cursor at the level of the surface, strokes pop out. With the "carver_bug_erratic when overlap cuts.blend" file, weird things happen when you overlap a cut to another existing cut.
@YAFU : thanx for the files, can confirm issues in these, will have a look later
looks like an issue with blenders bmesh boolean modifier (script uses this internally) which Carver MT only exposes, the script itself is not really doing anything wrong...
you can check this by setting "Apply Operations" to OFF in Carver and have a look at the objects modifiers....
Soo... what to do?
(1) close this and open a bug for the bmesh boolean modifier overlapping weidness [I could try to check code there]
(2) try to come up with some clever checks in carver and tweak overlapping threshold (even use CARVE? -- unlikely as this is a candidate for removal afaik)
(3) ?
I can try to have a look at what bmesh boolean modifier is doing (if time permits)
hi, just a comment here, Carver is designed to work in Perspective View, not Ortho View.
Best to use in Top/Bottom/Front/Back views.
I wonder if it's worth preventing execution in Ortho Mode?
I have previously prevented object_cloud_gen.py from executing in Ortho mode.
@lichtwerk what do you think?
Hi meta-androcto.
It makes no sense to me that Carver (almost a CAD tool) can not be used in Orthographic view. By the way, Pixivore examples are working on Ortho view:
http://blenderlounge.fr/forum/viewtopic.php?f=26&t=1534&sid=964c7a89ea3e072ea1f501fd0d2d2006
Also I remember one of my request to Pixivore was the possibility of having a grid always visible in front of the object in ortho view (grid by default in Blender is behind the object). He told me it would be a good having this, but he have no time to implement it.
hi YAFU,
Indeed your right, probably I'm thinking of Global/Local or User Views, I remember reading some limitation there
@BrendonMurphy: like I said, Carver MT is not buggy itself, it just shows a bug in the bmesh boolean modifier
So who should open the new report about bmesh boolean modifier?. I really do not know how to open this report and what information provide there.
Changed status from 'Open' to: 'Archived'
hi, archiving this task.
If the issue is with bmesh booleans & not the addon, then it's something to remember to solve.
@YAFU @lichtwerk feel free to create a new task & show this error in the raw form, that is reproduce in Blender & supply a .blend & easy procedures to reproduce the bug/limitation.
Thanks for report.
