The GLSL viewport output (Renderer: Blaner internal / game) of the Fresnel node differs from 2.76 to 2.78

The fact that the result differs that not means it's a bug… But in this case new version is indeed bad - was regression between 2.76 and 2.77 it seems.

@Sergey Sharybin (sergey), @Mike Erwin (merwin), @Brecht Van Lommel (brecht), one of you guys know more about it?

is this using the cycles Fresnel node? (not sure if this is even supposed to work with BI/GameEngine...)

The fresnel seems wrong to me in the current master. My guess it's the normal space (world vs. camera). Checking that.

Hi, I was a little in a haste because I had a meeting starting... sorry. Here's my addition

I also have the impression that it's something with the normals. When you disconnect the normals from the geom node, it gives correct results ("correct" = looks as exspected by me ;) )

@Sergey Sharybin (sergey): cycles viewport seems fine to me, you mean BI/BGE use camera space normals whereas cycles uses world?

@Michael Otto (mayqel): yep if you dont have a normal connected it will use GPU_VIEW_NORMAL, if you've got somethink linked it multiplies GPU_VIEW_MATRIX with this
