Kernel: 4.4.0-21-generic x86_64 (64 bit)
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970
16GB ram

Blender version
blender 2.78~release~1475052116-0thomas~xenial0(xenial)

Description:
Blender fails to start due to missing library file libosdGPU.so.3.0.2.
This seems to be caused by recent update of opensubdiv package to 3.0.5-1.

terminal output:
/usr/lib/blender/blender: error while loading shared libraries: libosdGPU.so.3.0.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Steps to reproduce:

Fully update system
Run blender

I guess it should be reported somewhere on launchpad to it's not clear to me where exactly:

Yes. I have issues with disk quotas on Launchpad. Cannot recompile Blender following the update of libopensubdiv to 3.0.5. Waiting for Launchpad people to extend quotas and trying to clean a bit in the meantime... Should be ok soon.
