Hi
I have uninstall the older version 2.77 which was working very well. And download the 2.78a 64 bit USA.msi and ZIP. After downloading I installed the 2.78 .msi normal way next next and finish the installation successfully. I got a normal cube i click on the file and as soon as i click the preference bank it shut down and im on my desktop. I have tried 4-5times but the result same. And i have think to do not to go with the file and go with the keyboard but the result same on to desktop. I have notice that when i hold shift+f it did not shutdown but when i hold alt it shutdown i have not use a min also. I have download the zip file also and tried but the result same with that also. I have never problem this way with my older version 2.77a.

I have attach {F397781}2.78a.gif file. In that after the flash screen open. i hold shift+f and pan it did not shutdown. But when i click file and then preference it shutdown 2.78a error.gif

Please:

  • Give us your exact Blender, OS and GPU (including drivers) versions, as requested in the template!
  • Ensure both your OS and drivers are fully up-to-date (and use official GPU drivers, not those provided by windows or tablet/laptop maker).
  • Try to disable any running antivirus.
  • Ensure you have no python executable available in your %path% envvar.
  • Try to re-download and re-install Blender.
  • Try the latest build from our buildbot.
  • Try to start Blender in factory settings (--factory-startup commandline option) (this will ensure whether this is a userpref or addon issue or not).
  • Try to tweak your GPU driver settings (e.g. try different values between 'performance' and 'quality' if you have such slider, etc.).
  • Launch Blender from the command line with -d option and attach as text file here any error printed out in the console (do not paste it directly in comment).
  • Try to place this dll next to your blender.exe (software OGL, will be slow, but will show whether this is a driver issue or not).

The all above steps did not work for me but im really thanks that the last step really work for me.

I have download both the zip file and gone step by step.
But after copying the .dll file in the official folder .exe and it work and 1st i was thinking when it close in middle i was afraid. But at 30min non stop i work without error or shutting down. I was happy then.

Thanks for effort u have taken and plz keep it up the service

Ok, this means that there is something wrong with either your OS or GPU/Driver.
The dll-file is not a permanent solution but make sure you have Windows 7 service pack 1 and your GPU drivers are at the latest version.
