Mask Opacity keyframes not visible anywhere.
Open, NormalPublic

Ubuntu 14.04 64x
nVidia GT620

Broken: 2.78a

Keyframes in LayerMask "Opacity" or "Invert the mask B/W" can be created. These keyframes exist in an existing Action (can be seen in Outliner - Actions and has datapath), but they don't appear in DopeSheet - DopeSheet nor DopeSheet - Mask. They can't be modified as the other keyframes. Nor changing its type (keyframe, interpolation, handle).

  • Open this file:
  • Check the MaskLayer Opacity animation by going from 10 to 20 and back. Keyframes are visible only in the slider (as yellow slider).
  • The same with "Invert the mask B/W". Frame 30 and 40 have keyframes.

EDIT: file uploaded.

Could you check with latest master (i.e. buildbot builds)? IIRC, sergey committed a fix for this sometime in the past few weeks-month.

Sorry, I didn't know that the file wasn't ever uploaded. Here it is:

I tested this file with blender-2.78-03a3957-linux-glibc219-x86_64, downloaded from on Nov 18, and keyframes are still not visible anywhere.

Before creating another bug of this kind, here is another:

Mask animation data is not reacheable with Outliner.
  • Open this file:
  • Look at the object, it has 2 location keyframes.
  • Go to Outliner - Datablocks and open Actions. There is object action, with F-Curves and every keyframe.
  • Look at the mask, it has 2 keyframes.
  • Go to Outliner - Datablocks and open Masks. You can go through: Masks - Mask - Layers - MaskLayer - Splines - Mask spline... and there it is. There's no keyframes, no F-Curves, no animation data.
