Blender lag after update graphic driver
Closed, ArchivedPublic

I have a Asus GL552VW with a GTX 960m and windows 10 which worked great with blender. But after I (well it was auto) updated the new driver through Geforce Experience which is 376.09, blender start to lag alot. Like A LOT!!! When using Blender, I couldn't click anything and had to wait for a few seconds for Blender to respond. It's not freeze or crash. It just like slowwww frame rate. Just like when you use subsuf too much.

I have reinstalled the driver (couldn't find the old one) and blender but it still happen. I ended up reinstall windows but it still happen. Just few days ago I have modified the registry to change the TdrDelay to 16 but it seem to be not the case since Blender worked fine back then and I reinstalled windows.

I have tried the zip version of 2.78a and 2.78 and 2.77, happened on all 3 versions.

So after googling, I have found the old driver which work fine after reinstall it. In this case it was the driver fault.

Since it is the drivers fault, nothing much to do from our side.

Thanks for reporting, closing as archived for future reference.
