Deleting a branch is permanent. Although the deleted branch may continue to exist for a short time before it actually gets removed, it CANNOT be undone in most cases. Continue?

render layers > shadow pass.
sphere with turn on smooth.

material > shadow > shadow only > shadow and shading

Could you please provide the blend file you used for testing and add your tested Operating System and Specifications?
Also did this work with previous versions of Blender? (2.78a).

Nvidia 310m

Seems to be exact the same behaviour as 2.77 and 2.78a, so its not a regression.
I don't know if this is a bug per-se and am not aware of the current support for Blender Internal in this case.
So this will fix?

Guys, April 2018, when u fix problem? Blender internal and Cycles have this problem{F2686577}. And don't say about subsurf, when i need lowpoly, with smooth normals. When?

Please don't reopen issues. At this moment we don't know when it will be solved.
Good joke! What means "don't know"? This problem is since 2013 or early. For 5 years you can't to know how resolve this problem? Why other render platforms can do this, and you can't? Or don't want to resolve?
