Tiles Animation not working proper

Short description of error
Animation of tiled Images don't work if the Image is first assigned to an Texture Slot.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Assign the Image to a Texture Slot first, THEN set the Animation Properties and Tiles in UV Editor. Hit Play ... the Animation don't go. Also the Tiles wil not shown correctly in Viewport.
  • Set the Animation and Tiles Settings first, THEN assign the Image to a Texture Slot. Now it works in Game.

This may confuse many new Blender User. Because some older Tutorials out there will not work this Way.

You mentioned older tutorials, does this mean this functionality worked on older versions? which versions would that be?

HG1 says, it is since Blender 2.73 no mor working correctly. But i've not testet it.

is it patched already in upbge?

This bug is fixed in UPBGE in this commit: 3b9afe545f49d8cc47fd4ae895db5dab1fc88325. I noticed blender developers about this issue and get no answers on the way i'm fixing it.
