Using the Light Path node as a final mix factor breaks the viewport material view.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
steps: open the blend or look at the screenshot. very simple material setup.

This is not a bug in master now. just unfortunate thing happened and fix for that did not make it 2.78b :(

The same here with the official 2.78b portable version (see below)


and this is with the 2.78a version

System configuration: Windows 10 Pro 64bit, i7-6820HK @2,7GHz, 32GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce GTX1070 8GB VRAM

Does this mean that its going to be left in the official 2.78b release on the download page? light-paths nodes are used all the time. that kinda hurts the new viewport.

What stays in 2.78b stays in 2.78b. That is just given flow of time which we can not revert backwards. Surely it is annoying, but for the time being you can always roll back to 2.78a.

We'll be deciding whether we do an update of 2.78b on the Sunday developer meeting.
