Worked: Blender 2.79 tb1 and lower
Blender doesn't show my card in preferences, GPU Compute not available.

Can you save system info and attach it here? Go to menu Help --> Save System Info. Do it for both Blender version.
Also run from command line blender -d > gfxcardtb1.txt for test build 1 and
blender -d > gfxcardtb2.txt for test build 2.

https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/dev/render/cycles/gpu_rendering.html#opencl does mention you need a gcn2.0 card. the 7700 seems to be 1.0
Yes, it gcn 1st gen. Thanks for help. Can anyone give me blender 2.79 test build 1? Pleeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaase. I can't search it(
I tried google and look at graphicall.org. Have you checked your recycle bin? I did get lucky sometimes and your test build 1 installer / zip might still be there.
On topic I though GCN 2.0 was starting for Blender 2.8. Will keep note of this.
