Duplicating this object crashes blender #52577

Blender Version
Broken: in 2.79 RC2 for mac 10.6
Worked: in 2.78c

Short description of error
Duplicate this cylinder object , makes blender crashes ( after some test, not always, but 95% chance ).
This object with particle system attached on it, has been append from another scene make with previous blender versions.
In the previous scene it was parented to curve. This cylinder duplicate itself along this curve with origin reseted.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
For now, open this files. Cylinder is already selected. Shift + D. Craches most of time.

This happens in RC2, but it's already fixed in master.
It was fixed by 146b0c6b04 which is already marked to be backported to 2.8
