The likely cause of this is generating a preview for one of the files in this directory is crashing.
(unrelated to speakers).

Without having a debugger you can find the file causing the crash by moving moving/renaming files into the directory until you find the one that crashes.

You can avoid the immediate crash by disabling thumbnails in your preferences if you need this to navigate to a path before testing.

Once you've done this, could you attach the file to this report that causes the crash?

You could also try using the command line, it may print an error about the file before crashing:

Note that a 1gb file for a few steps is unnecessarily large, such files should easily be 5-15mb with compression, try to do this in future.

I just got the eMail when it crashed after texturing

I found the culprit: a broken AVI file.

I forgot to change the settings for OBS before recording. That file was regrettably large.

Campbell Barton (campbellbarton) raised the priority of this task from 30 to 50.

Confirmed, the crash is inside FFMPEG, @Sergey Sharybin (sergey) could you check on this?

@Skylyn Bilén (skyliner369) could you delete @F796328 please? - its huge and steps were enough.

The file, as far as I know, is now deleted. Of course, it could still be somewhere. Just no clue how to delete the uploaded data.
