Node reconnecting sometimes is not working

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Open file, press CTRL X (Delete with reconnect). Links from green colored node established fine, but from red colored aren't.

I can confirm the behavior, but unsure if it's expected or not, green uses all colors, while red mixes normal, color and float sockets which might be the reason it's not getting automatically connected.

It has to do that there is no sensible internal connection for a texture node. What has the input vector to do with the output color of the Texture node. You can see that even when muting the node Blender does not mute to an input socket.
So it is expected that you cannot do this.

the code behaves according to design it was written for. improvements are possible, but happens outside of the bug tracker.

Based on Jeroen's explanation, this is indeed consistent with other nodes; When using Ctrl+X to delete a node and keep connections, it won't send connections from inputs to outputs which don't have much to do with said input. So shouldn't this have been closed 2 years ago? :P
