win 10 pro,xeon e5-2630 v3, quadro p5000

Blender Version
Broken: (example: 2.79a 4b206af, see splash screen)
Worked: (optional)

Box selection select random faces(on other workstation it`s fine

Create turos,got to to view,got to vertex mode,press B,make a selection of half the mesh
Based on a (as simple as possible) attached .blend file with minimum amount of steps

When i uncheck the "limit selection to visible" botton it`s working fine

Sorry, but I can't reproduce here.

Couple of things to try. First change selection mode in user preferences->system tab. Try opengl select and occlusion queries see if either helps. Second just to make sure it's not some weird setting try starting blender from terminal with "--factory-startup" flag and see if that fixes anything.

Marking incomplete for now unless someone can reproduce. Would be good if someone can test that has more similar hardware.
