System Information
Mac OS High Sierra, GeForce GT650M

Blender Version
2.79b f4dc9f9

Short description of error
Text edit cursor in blender is broken. It's Mac OS bug, not blender bug. But why you no use system cursor built in Mac OS (I) for edit text fields?

It can be seen only in the photo:

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Only on GeForce video card on Mac OS High Sierra

Just to make sure:

  • you are talking about that graphics glitch (that square behind the mouse pointer/cursor)?
  • functionality is intact? you can enter values in the input field? (just asking because you say it's "broken")?
  • how come you think this is a MacOS bug, not a blender bug?
  • blender uses its own UI code for drawing the interface/widgets, that's how it is...

Marking as incomplete for the time being

    Yes

  • functionality is intact? you can enter values in the input field? (just asking because you say it's "broken")?
Yes, functionality is intact, all text fields work correctly

  • how come you think this is a MacOS bug, not a blender bug?
In MacOS HeighSierra there were difficulties with video cards from GeForce. When i try change cursor size, that square behind the mouse pointer disappears.
The problem is in the MacOS with the raster pointer which is used in the blender.
At my iMac 2017 with Radeon all work is correct.

(blender uses its own UI code for drawing the interface/widgets, that's how it is...)
This bug does not interfere with the work, just uncomfortable. This square distracts and sometimes overlap what you enter in the text field you have to move the cursor away, it is inconvenient. I thought, why not use the standard system cursor, as in all other applications?
