Compiling
d712dd2
from sourceShort description of error
When I tried to compile blender from source, it did not compile even after I ran
./blender/build_files/build_environment/install_deps.sh
.After
sudo apt install libpng12-dev
andsudo apt install libjpeg9-dev
installation, it compiled and ran so I reckon the dependencies are inappropriate.Added subscriber: @TakahiroKomatsu

But tracker is just for bugs, not for building support. Archiving this for that reason.
In meantime I want to be kind and advice you to check out what my docker image does: https://github.com/djazo/blender-docker
From dockerfile you can find what is needed by system itself, and then there is cmake build magic done on entrypoint.sh to do what install_deps.sh does. If you use that, the dependency libs aren't "polluting" your system, and you don't have any version mismatch. (that cmake thingie is used to build macOS & Windows libs)
Thanks for the reply. In practice, I solve the problme myself and don't need any "building support". I just thought the struggle I experienced was because of some kind of bug in
install_deps.sh
(like, it does not install required libraries)So, if I understand you right, this did not reproduce in your docker image?
Purpose of the docker image and the cmake is just to simpify things and isolate most of the dependencies from the system libs. install_deps.sh is not used at all. That makes linux, macOS and windows building more 1:1 =)
No, I haven't been able to reproduce this on vanilla ubuntu, or docker image. Will look into that more, though. Your report is noted, thanks! =)
