Short description of error
Crop + full sample crashes blender. True for blender internal render on two different computers.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  1. Start the Blender :)
  2. Check "Full sample" under Anti-Aliasing tab in Render section;
  3. Check "Border" and "Crop" under Dimensions tab;
  4. Go to camera view;
  5. Ctrl+b for border select;
  6. Select the area that is less than camera's rendering area;
  7. F12 for render

Broken file attached. Just hit F12 button and enjoy :)

Cannot confirm (checked master, 2.79b and 2.79) on linux

Could you run blender from the commandline with the -d option and paste the output here as a txt file [maybe we get a hint from there...]

Marking as incomplete for the time being...

I can't reproduce this issue on linux as well. I think that's the problem of windows version.

Hm, just a shot in the dark:

  • could you check if the EXRs are actually written to C:\Users\Dene\AppData\Local\Temp\blender_a03960\crop+fullSamp

le problem.blend_Scene_RenderLayer.exr? (should be 8 of them in there, one for every sample)
(that folder blender_a03960 will change on every rerender)

  • can you open any of these in the Image Editor? can you save them from the Image Editor?
