Blender Version
2.8 alpha release

Short description of error
Hi, I'm following weekly the Blender 2.8 releases. In the new alpha release I noted that CLAY RENDER disappeared.
What's happened?
It was definitively removed or it is just because it is a non-definitive version?

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Based on a (as simple as possible) attached .blend file with minimum amount of steps

@blenderhighschool Hi Andrea. Clay Render Engine was removed from the Render Settings Panel some time ago. It has since been Integrated/Moved into the 'Shading Menu' within the 3D Viewport.

This is how you activate the Clay Render Engine now,

Shading Menu -> MatCap and Select 'Cavity' for Ambient Occlusion/Ridge Highlights that used to be in Clay Renderer Settings. Hope this helps. :)

  3. What si the Workspace tab in the Property Editor?
  4. What si the Workspace render engine (it crashes in the alpha release).

Andrea

Thank you so much!

  1. The Ruler Tool does exactly what it says. Measure distance/length between two points. :) (If using Left-Click Select) Click-Drag with Right-Click and it will create a ruler with 2-points in 3d view. Use left-click drag to move each point. Ctrl to snap, left-click once in a point to delete, etc.

  2. Tool tab in Properties Editor is similar to T panel in 2.79. It contains the Tool Properties for the current mode. In Edit mode it shows 'Mesh Options'. In Sculpt Mode it shows Brush Settings, Etc.

  3. Not sure what you mean by Workspace in Proper Editor? But at top of Blender window you can use '+' to add more Workspaces (Layouts). Animation, Composition, Sculpting, Etc. It's a Work-In-Progress.

  4. If you mean 'Workbench' Render Engine. Then it's similar to the 'Solid Mode' in 2.79. Plan is for it to be a very simplified viewport render engine. Fast & Light. When you want Realtime PBR, Use Eevee. For Ray-Traced Rendering, Use Cycles. For fast work in viewport, use Workbench. At least, that's the idea. :)

  5. If you are having crashes with Workbench Engine, I will suggest to create a crash report. Make sure to give as much details as possible about your system and blender version. And list the steps to recreate crash exactly.

Hope this helps. And since Brecht has closed this task. I'll also suggest to use forums or join discussion in other tasks related to your questions. There's a lot of awesome people who are always willing to help around here. :)

Oh yes, I'm sorry... Workbench render. OK. Clear.

About the Workspace tab in Properties Editor see attachment.Cattura.JPG

So, Blender 2.8 is very interesting. Maybe for the old Wireframe view was usefully to set it direcltu (pressing Z key), instead of finding it on the Overlays menu, but, anyway... great job!
Thanx!
