Problem navigating scene with space navigator in Version 2.8 alpha #56027

Win 10 on Intel core i5, NVIDIA 660 GTX graphics card.

Blender Version
Broken: Blender 2.8 alpha, downloaded today.
Worked: Blender 2.79b

When operating the space navigator the scene only moves if the cursor is moved with the regular mouse (logitech m 330) at the same time. Using only the space navigator doesn't do anything and the scene freezes as soon as I let go the mouse. But when I move the mouse again the scene "jumps" to the new viewpoint as if the information from the space navigator is stored somewhere but doesn't affect the display immediately.

Please follow our submission template and guidelines, also read these tips about bug reports, and make a complete, valid bug report, with required info, precise description of the issue (only ONE issue per report!), precise steps to reproduce it, small and simple .blend and/or other files to do so if needed, etc.

Not sure what you call space navigator here?

Hi!

Sorry! Looks like this device is not as common as I thought it is. I am using a 3d-connexion Space Navigator for navigating in 3d-space. Johnathan Williamson recommended it a while ago for use with Blender. Not sure, but I think you call it NDOF-device?

Hope this helps.

Kind regards

Joerg

Hello,

Same problem here, I've tried many version until alpha, but my spacenavigator didn't work too. Mouse work very well but ndof is unusable.

Edit : I've tried to move mouse while using my space navigator and it works, it's not very userfriendly to move both hands simultaneously but it's a workaround... maybe an input event is undetected for ndof ?

Hi!

I just downloaded the new Alpha 2 -- and it works! Space navigator moves the scene from start on correctly. Thanks to you all! Good work!
