Selection fails for many overlapping objects.

Description

System Information
Windows 7

Blender Version
2.8

Short description of error
Selection fails for many overlapping objects.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  • Add a sphere or any other primitive and duplicate though the X axis at 0.1 of distance, repeat as many times you like.
  • Rotate the viewport straight to the X axis so all spheres are behind a single one
  • Try to select various spheres
  • Ideally, the selection would cycle though every sphere even if all of them are occluded by a single one but instead it stays selecting the nearest to the view.

edit:
Forgot to mention, this happens even in x-ray mode which is supposed to allow selection of occluded objects, otherwize why display them?

The selection of the primitives works normal as expected in the latest builds. If you click on the same location the selection cycles through every sphere, also in xray view-mode.
