@LazyDodo I doubt we can do much here, this is likely an obscure conflict somewhere, and/or GPU driver bug, but maybe you’ll have an idea?

@Ewoud3D Please:

  • Give us your exact Blender, OS and GPU (including drivers) versions, as requested in the template!
  • Ensure both your OS and drivers are fully up-to-date (and use official GPU drivers, not those provided by windows or tablet/laptop maker or open source ones in linux distributions).
  • Try the latest build from our buildbot.
  • Try to start Blender in factory settings (--factory-startup commandline option) (this will ensure whether this is a userpref or addon issue or not).
  • Try to tweak OGL settings in UserPreferences, System tab.
  • Try to tweak your GPU driver settings (e.g. try different values between 'performance' and 'quality' if you have such slider, etc.).
  • Attach as text file here the report generated by Help -> System Info (do not paste it directly in comment).
  • Launch Blender from the command line with --debug-gpu option and attach as text file here any error printed out in the console (do not paste it directly in comment).

Alright, so I'm running Windows 10 [Version 10.0.17134.165], MSI Geforce GTX 1070 Gaming X 8G graphics card with the latest drivers (version 398.82) with Blender 2.79b (the latest version, I reinstalled it once again today after trying the build from buildbot).
I have now tried it to start Blender with factory settings, but it made no difference.
Tried to tweak the OGL settings in UserPreference, but didn't really know what would to edit but tried never the less.

@mont29 these things are terribly difficult to troubleshoot, it's generally environmental (gpu drivers, os updates, overclocking, software being installed along side blender, etc etc etc) and not a bug in blender. given these cases are generally isolated incidents, we could probably locate the issue with a lot of back and forth but i don't feel it's a great use of time.

@Ewoud3D, can you tell if the same happens in blender2.8 ?

Some changes were made in this version (still in development) that we can bring to blender2.79b

@LazyDodo I understand, in the meantime I just use Blender on my laptop.
But please tell me if you have any suspicions and I will look into it.
Thank you for your time

Alright, I finally found the problem, It's the drivers of my drawing tablet, I uninstalled the drivers of the tablet because I didn't use the tablet anymore and that was when the problem occurs, but I didn't make that connection untill now.
I installed the drivers again and everything works now.
