Try reinstalling another version and rebooting dozens of times and it doesn't work.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

The MBCS string encoding seems to often be an issue with python, according to quick search on the internet… I cannot check further, that is windows/python related. :/

Just checking here if this is still an issue? (would assume it is, but I cannot check either...)

Not even sure if this is about the encoding in the FBX file? Or the filepath?

@mont29: seems you confirmed this, have an idea?

@lichtwerk I don’t think I ever confirmed that (at least, that’s not shown in my history of changes above), I cannot confirm or not since that’s on windows.

And I don’t think that's related to FBX itself, I would suspect some issue with badly encoded py file itself (not sure, but path like BBlender\2.79 looks odd to me? Don’t think installer would do that anyway?).

This is almost certainly more like some user assistance thing, due to some specific system setup, anyway, so gonna close that one until we get actual proper report. If that was a common issue on windows I guess we'd have tons of reports about it. ;)
