Short description of error
As the title says, the Compress File option is not preserved on Windows 10. It works as it should on Kubuntu 18.04 and Windows 7.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
1: Create a Blend file. Save it with 'compress file' option turned on.
2: Close blender and reopen the file.
3: "Compress file" option is turned off.

That sounds very weird… does it also happen with factory settings (launching blender from command line with --factory-startup option )?

More than a week without reply or activity. Due to the policy of the tracker archiving for until required info/data are provided.

I finally found the solution for this issue. The problem occured, because I used a custom startup file saved with a previous version of Blender, and always loaded project files with option Load UI ticked off. After starting Blender with factory settings, setting all UI elements as desired, and freshly saving my startup file, the mentioned option is preserved as intended.
