Seems to work OK here in Linux.

Are you importing the mario.obj file or the .zip?

Obj file. Was I supposed to load the zip?

No, you need to unzip the archive and select the mario.obj file.
Here is the output from the terminal window:

I did but the textures won’t load

Try Cycles rather than Blender Render.
Using Cycles Render, Mario basically looks OK but the eye texture is mapped incorrectly.

Doesn’t work... tried photoshop and it did it but I need blender to change the model animation

Might be a problem running the OBJ importer under Windows, but someone else will have to test it.

Try running Blender from the command line and attaching the output from running the importer.

Please try to be more specific in regards to what "Doesnt work...".

  • Did you have a look in the Node Editor or switched the 3D-View to Texture or Material shading mode?

here is a blend showing the imported mario.obj:
#56988.blend
blender/blender#5988.png

If there are still problems with loading textures on your side, could you please upload the blend file that demonstrate missing textures?

marking as incomplete for the time being...
