Short description of error
When using Select Random it's still possible to select hidden objects. This can cause problems once the selected objects are manipulated or data is linked, possibly messing up an entire scene without noticing it until un-hiding affected objects.
Steps to cause Bug
When doing a "Select Random" operation on a set of objects and then hiding the objects, the active object should now be one of the hidden objects.
Without selecting something new among the visible objects by clicking and resetting the active object, repeat the Select Random and then change any of the settings in the Redo Menu. This will cause the selection to be randomised again and this time hidden objects will also be randomly selected.
This only happens if the active object is hidden while doing the operation.

Can you give more precise steps? I'm having trouble reproducing this. How are you hiding the objects, H key in the viewport?
@brecht Yes, hiding with H. I am only doing these steps in the 3D view.
