Please follow the bug submission template, and attach a .blend file to reproduce the problem.

Did you download the 2.79.6 build from builder.blender.org, or somewhere else?

Hello again.
Sorry for my bad english.

Ich just downloaded the latest Build from today. It is Blender 2.79.6 from developer.blender.org, Linux 64bit on a Ubuntu 18.10 system.

To recreate: greate a cube, apply a principled BSDF and set Transmission to 1 and roughness to 0.
Switch to rendered view.
On CPU: the result looks fine
On GPU: the cube is rendered nearly black.

When i use the 2.79b, everything is fine.

In order to solve this problem i tried other drivers. I got the same results on a gtx670 and a gtx760. I got the same problem on a new useraccount.

I've looked into it, also using the latest build (commit ID: c1d29ea783). For me the issue doesn't happen and given scenario renders just fine.

Tested with:
Arch Linux x86_64, Kernel 4.19.1-arch1-1-ARCH
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980Ti (proprietary driver 410.73)

Any more information required?

EDIT: Out of curousity, I've also tested the scenario on my laptop.

Pretty similar setup except for the GPU:

Blender 2.79.6 (c1d29ea783)
Arch Linux x86_64, Kernel 4.19.1-arch1-1-ARCH
NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M (proprietary driver 410.73, using nvidia-xrun (dedicated X Server for the NVIDIA GPU where everything, including blender, ran in)

Here the initially described issue occured again...
BTW. in both cases cuda 10.0.132 was installed.

It could be an Issue with NVIDIA Cards pre GeForce 900 series as it seems, since both Ubuntu 18.10 and Arch Linux showed off the bug.

Cannot reproduce here (fedora, 970m), but since some more information is given, putting back to "Needs Triage"...

Hi, please test it on a 600 or 700 series GPU from nvidia.
