Annotation tool does not work when pressing D and LEFT MOUSE BUTTON.

Annotation tool will work when searching with CMD+F; but also within the search, if you click ENTER the annotation tool will pop up for a split second and disappear.

What key map are you using and what editor type are you trying to annotate on?

The D key for annotate does work if you use any of the other tools, other than the 3D Cursor tool. It's probably a keymap issue.

That's true @WilliamReynish ! it doesn't work only with the 3d Cursor tool!
Still there is an issue with Choosing the Annotation node in the search menu,
Works with mouse click but not with ENTER. weird.

Ok, I've located the issue. For the 3D Cursor tool keymap, Set 3D Cursor (view3d.cursor3d) is set to Press rather than Click. If changed to Click, the D key now works again.

@ideasman42 will you change this to fix this issue?

Hmm, to add further flavour, changing the 3D Cursor to Click makes it so it doesn't move under your mouse cursor. This may be a bit more difficult to fix than I thought.

I am afraid that this will spawn even more issues in the future. The main issue here is that the 3D cursor should not really a be tool, a mode you switch to, but rather an auxiliary feature that is use in parallel with the actual tools, and input mapping for that tool should be a modifier key + one of the mouse buttons.
