Closed, ResolvedPublic

System Information
Operating system: Windows 64 bits
Graphics card: 2x GTX 1070

Blender Version
Broken: Latest 2.8 Beta Build

Short description of error
When working with armatures, the tool bar has an option in edit mode for extruding bones. This button crashes Blender when on the Animation tab. It works fine on all other tabs.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
1- Create an armature
2- Enter edit Mode
3- Click on Extrude bone tool.
4- Doing this specifically on Animation Tab crashes Blender.

Event Timeline

Just to clarify: extruding bones with shortcut doesn't crash Blender, only when clicking on the Extrude Tool.

Philipp Oeser (lichtwerk) triaged this task as Needs Information from User priority.

Cannot reproduce (as of rB3d013f7b10b6)

@Dimitri Bastos (DimitriBastos) : does it happen in this file for you?

If not: could you share your blend [set up just like above file, where just clicking the gizmo would crash]?

Marking as incomplete until we have this tested...

@Philipp Oeser (lichtwerk)

I can't even open your file. Blender crashes imediatelly. But as you can see bellow, it shows the viewport and bones in a few frames.

Please, check this link. It's the process here on my end:

I don't have a specific file to share. I didn't test on an existing file with bones, but a blank new file/scene. On my end, Blender crashes just when clicking on the extrude bone icon.

Just an update: on the latest version of the beta, the issue is solved. It doesn't crashes Blender anymore and the bone extrusion works properly.
