Crash while trying to replace materials in the material slot
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Based on the default startup or an attached .blend file
I have a relative complex object with several mateirals applied, with each mateiral assigned to a defined vertex Group, If I want to replace one specific material with another material (from within the "blender internal material stock"), blender crashes immediately, no matter whether with PBR shader materials or simple materials.
