Short description of error
When rendering an image or entering rendered viewport with Eevee, on, the edges of any mesh have bright pixels and color distorted with random lines on the mesh.. When turning on screen space reflections, the distortion goes away in the viewport and in the final render. But turning it off again brings back the distortion in the final render.
Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Open startup file and enter render mode in viewport rendering with Eevee on and screen space reflections turned off.
Or render an image of the starting cube.
