Blender 2.8 Crashes when adding a circle on edit mode #59224

System Information
Operating system: Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS
Graphics card: GeForce GTX 960M/PCIe/SSE2

Blender Version
Broken: 2.80, d40bffa17f, blender2.8, 2018-12-06
Worked: (optional)

Short description of error
Blender crashes when adding a circle on a splitted view, where one is on wireframe and the other in solid mode, while on Edit mode.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error

  1. On Blender 2.80 create a new General blender file
  2. In the Layout workspace (Other workspaces as well) split the view in 2
  • View -> Area -> Horizontal Split
  1. Press Tab to go into Edit mode
  2. Press on Face select mode
  3. Change the display on the first area to wireframe, leaving the second area unmodified on Solid mode.
  4. With the mouse over the second area (The one on solid mode), create a new circle (The crash only happens with a Circle).
  • Shit + A -> Circle
  1. Press Tab 2 or more times.
    After that, Blender crashes and the logs say something about Segmentation Fault (I really wish I could help with more technical information)

Please let me know if I can provide any additional information.

Best regards,
Paolo

I can confirm that the bug is still there, with the latest downloadable Win64 build as of Dec.12th (hash: 16fc62e15f)

First I also wasn't able to reproduce it. But the key point is to switch to the "face select" mode in the wireframe'd area. If you then tab out from edit-mode to object-mode, and try to add a Circle with Shift-A -> Mesh -> Circle, Blender will crash.
If it does not crash immediately, then do tab into edit mode on the new circle - then it crashes.

Seems to be fixed in the latest build.
