Reference Image locking not working #59354

Short description of error
If I lock in the Outliner the Reference Image in order to prevent its selection in the viewport, it does not work. I have right click selection enabled, and if I right click over a Reference Image (empty) it gets selected, and I can transform it, accidentaly resize it, if it happens at the edge of the Reference Image.

Exact steps for others to reproduce the error
Just create a Reference Image, lock its selectability in Outliner, hover over it in the viewport, you can still select it, and transform it, go to its edge, you can resize it.

I can confirm this happens to other objects too. For example you can still manipulate the camera gizmos this way if you still have it selected in the outliner.

This isn't a bug (at least this confirms to how other areas of Blender work), the object remains active.

You can disable selectability on an armature or mesh for eg, then enter edit/pose mode - or change it's properties.

Disabling selectability just means it wont be selected via border, lasso, picking etc.


Note, while looking into this noticed gizmos would draw when the object wasn't visible - resolved 4fceaf3848
